A Vivencia is a life story interview that results in a priceless recording of a loved one telling their own story. Imagine having the ability to hear their voice decades from now, allowing your children to know who they were from their own voice.
Honoring the Mothers in our Lives,
Today and Everyday
At Vivencia, we celebrate every person who identifies as a mother. Being a mom means more than having given birth to a child. In ancient Mexico, Nantli, is what the Aztecas would call their mothers in addition to Protectors.
This nomination is for those who sprout seeds of creativity in us, who spin webs of support, who weave inspiration, who carry the weight and fuel the fire. We honor the mothers who are in our lives, if we are lucky, we have more than one.
ABOUT YOUR GUIDE
Mariana Bandera, Founder of Vivencia
Mariana Bandera (she/her) is the founder of Vivencia. She guides families who wish to preserve and pass down legacies through life story interviews. Mariana is an anthropologist and archaeologist with a focus on how cultures around the world honor life and death. She has been drawn to the significance of storytelling as a means of transferring wisdom, which has led her to record many Vivencias for clients over the years. This was a tradition passed down through Mariana’s family, leaving her with priceless first-hand accounts of loved ones that she can share with her children one day.
It has become Mariana’s mission to guide as many people as possible to find meaningful ways to pass legacies to the next generation. Her vision is to help our society pave the path to ancestry and allow our descendants to know their ancestors.
