Do I need to do the phone consultation?


This call is mostly for your benefit, plus we're very friendly people! This is a very easy way to get acquainted and on the same page before we dive into this experience. Getting comfortable with us and setting some goals will make the entire experience more successful.

Is this considered a biography or autobiography?


Not exactly. We are creating something special by transcribing your own words. In our opinion, your personality and essence lives in the rawness of a conversation. We do make edits only to make the text book-ready, but we do not chop up your story and put a biographical format to this. Vivencias are actually closer to what is called an Ethnography, which is a term more used in Anthropology and other sciences. By recording your stories through your words, we create a better sense of the time period and understanding of our history.




Is Vivencia right for me?


Your story is more important than you may realize and is certainly suited for a book. If you love your family and want to leave them with a way to honor your memory, this is for you. If you are the type of person who loves creating family traditions, this is for you. If you want to find a meaningful way to leave a legacy, this is for you. If you want to pass on wisdom and lessons to the next generation, this is for you. There are so many reasons people find Vivencia a rewarding experience, and one is bound to resonate with you or a loved one.




Will I be able to do this if I am not tech savvy?





Common mistakes when deciding to preserve your life story?


1. Writing your Own Life Story - It doesn't get done: This may be the most common trend once somebody decides they want to preserve their story. While some are successful with this route, the majority get halfway through the second chapter and then put it off for "later". People we have helped expressed how they began the process themselves, feeling energized to complete this, but life catches up and you get busy, putting this project on the shelf for when they have more time. Some things in life are worth hiring a professional to guide you to the end goal. -Only text, no voice: Plus, you lose the element of voice recordings, which some consider to be the most powerful piece of this package. ‚Äč 2. Choosing an automated, partial, or budget-version service to record your story. This is not the time to cut corners. There are other options out there, most of which lack guidance and soul. Others may be missing important parts, such as audio, key questions, or pulling out your story in your own words. Having somebody dedicated to your story and creating an eternalizing your legacy is something worth investing in. 3. Digitalizing letters, photos, and documents This is amazing and everybody should do this. Although, it is no substitute to thoroughly documenting your story and intentionally leaving it to your family. Everything you do to preserve family history is important and a piece of the puzzle. Having a 1st hand account of a family members life is uncomparable.

You are about to give the best gift they ever received! Once you set up the free phone consultation we can discuss the details to your next steps. Generally, we will set up a call with your loved one to debrief them, and then schedule the interview sessions. We would need their email and phone number to begin. This will all come with a detailed welcome email with thorough instructions for you to reference at any time.




My loved one's birthday is coming up soon, how do I surprise them with this as a gift?


This is very common, and while it is tough to surprise them since they are the subject of the story, we like to send a digital welcome card from Vivencia to get them excited about what is to come. This will help them envision what they are about to create and get them excited about what it will mean for their legacy!

Are shipping costs included in the price?


Standard shipping is included in the price within the United States. There is an additional cost associated with international shipping, depending on the country. Express shipping is an option at an additional cost, which can be calculated on the checkout page. International shipping can be calculated on the checkout page as well.





Pricing & Package Options

How much does it cost?


Once we go through the free consultation and map out your goals, we can give you a definitive price. This is because choosing the service that fits your needs can be confusing without speaking to somebody who can clear up any questions. We assure you transparency in the pricing structure, but want to be sure that each client is ready and dedicated to creating their own Vivencia before proceeding.




Can I add additional services after I've already paid?


Yes you can! If you choose to add another service after your initial purchase, we can send you an link to complete your payment for the new amount.




Can I order extra book copies?


Of course! Additional books will be $50 each.




Do you offer coupons or discounts?


We do not offer any discounts on our services. This is a heavily involved process that requires time, attention, and care for each customer in order to deliver a beautiful gift to your family. We take your Vivencia seriously and do not cut corners and for that reason we have fixed pricing that fairly reflects the value that you are receiving. However, we do have some special offers for referrals or group purchases. See the next question below for more information.




How does a referral discount work?


We not only appreciate referrals, but love to offer special bonuses for those who introduce us to future clients. For each referral we add 2 extra hardcover book to your order ($100 value).





Privacy

How much control do I have over the finished product?


You have final approval over the finished product. We professionally edit the story so that you don't need to, but we then send you the edited copy for your approval before printing. For the audio, if there are any parts that you need omitted, we respect your choices and will remove any time clips needed for your satisfaction.




How is my information protected?


You own control of all of the information within these interviews and books. We agree that this is private and for you to decide what to do with. We do in our agreement ask you to allow use, under your approval, of audio clips and your testimonials for marketing purposes. We agree to only use that which we were given permission to use. Process & Product

How are the interviews conducted?


Interviews are normally conducted over Zoom in 4 one hour interviews. You do not need to have the Zoom application in order to join an interview session. By clicking your custom link, you will automatically join. We will record your audio, but if video is possible for you, we suggest that you use it as well so that you will have another medium that the interview will be recorded as. On occasion if traveling to the interviewees location is possible, we can arrange that.




How long does the entire process take?


The interview can be completed in 4 sessions. We try to schedule all of them within 4 weeks, but can find time over an 8 week period in order to fit your schedule. Once the interviews are complete, the processing time takes another 3-4 weeks to have your books created and delivered. Total of approximately 8-12 weeks.




I have already written down some of my life stories, can we include this?


Yes, we are willing to work with all types of situations. This is what the initial consulation is for. We can discuss options, whether we have you tell the story again so that the audio can be recorded with you telling it in your own voice, or we can just create an additional chapter in the book to include all other writings you want to add.




How much time do I personally spend on this?


Our goal is to make this as smooth as possible for you. We will do the heavy lifting. Here's what you will be doing: -15 minute phone call. - 4 hours of interviews. - Send 20 photos to be included in the book. - 1 round of you approving the final draft of your book. That is it! We handle all of the backend process that turns your story into a professional gift package.




Who conducts the interview?

Can my family be interviewed as well?


Each Vivencia is made for one specific person, so only one person is interviewed. Although, we do have a part of the process to include your family members. We poll your family for all of the questions that they want to ask you. Then during our interview we take time to go through those questions. If another family member or friend wants their own Vivencia we would love to help and offer a referral bonus to you and them.




What if I do not have Zoom or I don't know how to use it?


We prefer using Zoom because it is extremely simple and user friendly. Even if you do not have Zoom on you computer of phone, you are able to join a Zoom call. We are able to guide you through this process or recommend you have a family member help, but chances are you will not need assistance because of the ease of this application. If all else fails, we can conduct the interviews over other applications or regular phone calls.




Can we do the interviews in person?


Currently with the social distance measures in place, we are only conducting interviews remotely using Zoom. When life moves back to normal we will offer in-person interviews if requested. We know that in-person conversations carry something special, but we have found technology to be very capable to replicate the real thing when needed. We have found to be able to pull out the special moments whether we interview in person or over the computer. Depending on location, we may be able to conduct the interview in person (usually New York City), and we are willing to travel if the client is willing to cover the associated costs.
